The “Maso” particles caused a contagious disease called White Chlorination Syndrome to spawn in Japan, and later spread to the rest of the world. The Giant Queen was defeated but the fact it came from a different plane of existence led to unknown particles being released into the atmosphere known as “Maso”. This is one of the many endings of Drakengard, which took place in an entirely different universe before the characters were teleported to 2003 Tokyo at the conclusion. This will be in chronological order, and contains the odd bit of personal speculation.Ĭonclusion Prior to the start of the gameīefore the events of NieR Replicant, an enormous being named the Giant Queen entered our world from an alternate dimension. #NIER PETRIFY KAINE OR NOT HOW TO#
RELATED: NieR Replicant: How to 'Cultivate the Legendary Flower' (Legendary Gardener Trophy/Achievement) Players don't need to put too much thought into this decision, though. Players are tasked with choosing whether to do nothing and be annihilated or petrify Kaine in order to seal the door. Kaine is one of the main characters in NieR Replicant, and at this point in the story, she is planning on making a grave sacrifice. For other choices early on, they mostly just produce minor differences in cutscenes. Thankfully, only Ending C and Ending D are linked to a choice, and this is closer to the end of the game.

While players love having this kind of power to change how the game plays out, it also leads to a great deal of choice anxiety. Some of these choices are very minor in nature, not having any long lasting effect whatsoever, but others can lead directly to one of the game's five different endings. NieR Replicant is a game that is brimming with choices for the player to make.
